As part of the global launch campaign for the PlayStation 5, we projection-mapped the facade of the Dublin Convention Centre in a covert overnight installation. This was one of several coordinated activations across major cities worldwide, with each location filming the projection as part of Sony’s official release campaign.
The projection took place from across the River Liffey using four 20,000-lumen Barco projectors, double-stacked to enhance brightness and visibility over the long distance. I was part of the team responsible for the projector setup and alignment, working to ensure accurate coverage and consistent output.
My primary role was in the projection mapping process. Using MadMapper, I mapped visuals onto the two flat concrete sections flanking the building’s curved glass core, creating clean, high-impact visuals that aligned with the PS5’s sleek branding. The full projection was completed and filmed overnight to maintain secrecy ahead of the global reveal.
