During the COVID-19 lockdown, The Blizzards approached Algorithm Productions to create a music video that could be produced entirely remotely. The result was a fully digital, stylized video driven by motion capture, combining creative storytelling with technical ingenuity.
Each band member was sent a Rokoko motion capture suit to record themselves playing their part of the track from home. I was responsible for processing and cleaning all of the incoming mocap data, ensuring accurate and expressive movement for each virtual performer. I then synced the performances to the track, rigged and attached 3D instrument models to each band member, and handled all of the camera animation for the final piece.
The visuals were brought to life using a combination of Cinema 4D and Notch, creating a vibrant particle simulation that flowed with the rhythm of the music and the motion of the band. The result was a unique music video that turned lockdown limitations into an opportunity for digital creativity.
