Living Canvas is a large-scale, curved LED installation located along the canal at Wilton Park, designed to showcase the work of Irish visual and sound artists in a public, urban setting. The screen acts as a living digital gallery, cycling through curated pieces that bring art into everyday spaces.
I was involved from the early stages of the project, starting with concept renders to visualize how the screen would integrate into the canal-side environment. To help the client understand the scale and impact, I created an interactive, first-person web-based scene using Three.js. This allowed stakeholders to virtually explore the park and preview how the screen and content would appear in context.
On the technical side, I helped set up and calibrate the physical LED screen, then built the control servers and backend systems responsible for playing content, managing timelines, and cycling through the scheduled artwork. I also served as the on-call technician during its early operation phase. Later in the project, I collaborated with another developer to create a mobile web app that let users hear synchronized audio for each piece via their phones and headphones, adding an interactive layer to the viewing experience.
